This February, NCPL welcomes Reckoning, Inc. Executive Director Dan Gediman, who will deliver the presentation, “How to Use Catholic Church Records to Find Enslaved Ancestors.” Meet with us on Saturday, February 21st, at 11 am, in NCPL Main Branch Community Room #1, when Gediman will demonstrate how to use Reckoning’s Enslaved Catholic Church Records database to look for possible ancestors and share tips on how to use online genealogical tools to look for those ancestors in post-Emancipation censuses and other vital records. The presentation will include a question-and-answer period.
Reckoning, Inc. is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to examine the legacy of slavery in America, especially in Kentucky, and to create ways for communities to engage with this information through research projects, media productions, educational curricula, online content, and other means.
