Residents of Nelson County are familiar with the legends of the “father of American music” Stephen C. Foster visiting Bardstown, where he was inspired to write some of his most famous songs. In anticipation of the 200th anniversary of his birth on July 4, learn about his life, music, and legacy from Christopher Lynch, PhD, author of the new book Formulating Foster: Stephen C. Foster and the Creation of a National Musical Myth. Join us on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:30 am in NCPL Main Branch Community Room #1. Open to ages 18 and up.
