Just in time for election season, NCPL welcomes back Dr. Melanie Goan, Professor of History from the University of Kentucky & speaker for the Kentucky Humanities, for a timely discussion of woman suffrage. You've probably heard of Susan B. Anthony & Elizabeth Cady Stanton, but what do you really know about the long fight for woman suffrage? This presentation will address misconceptions & will document Kentucky's contributions to the Nineteenth Amendment. You’ll learn about the Kentucky Equal Rights Association, its leaders, as well as the thousands of men & women, white & black, from all parts of the state who worked to secure "a simple justice." Join us Monday, October  20, at 5  pm, in NCPL Main Branch Community Room #1 for this program, funded in part by Kentucky Humanities & the National Endowment for the Humanities
