Program Description

Event Details

This Women's History Month, NCPL welcomes back Dr. Melanie Goan, Professor of History from the University of Kentucky and speaker for Kentucky Humanities, for another discussion of our Commonwealth’s history, to be held on Wednesday, March 11th, at 5:30 PM, in NCPL Main Branch Community Room #1. The Kentucky frontier lingers in our memory as a man's world, but what about the women who occupied and helped settle it? We'll look at several examples of women who endured the thrills and threats of starting over and in the process shaped what Kentucky became through grit, determination, and ingenuity. This program is funded in part by Kentucky Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
