This Derby week, Nelson County Public Library will host Dr. James C. Claypool, author, Professor Emeritus of History at Northern Kentucky University, and speaker for the Kentucky Humanities, for a discussion of the origins and development of the Kentucky Derby, the world’s most famous horse race and a powerful influence on Kentucky society and culture. Join us on Monday, April 27th, at 6:00 pm in NCPL Main Branch Community Room #2 when we’ll serve festive food and drinks--and feel free to wear your best Derby hat! This program is funded in part by Kentucky Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Open to ages 18 and up.
