Join us for Kentucky History on the Road: Kentucky in the Civil War on Saturday, August 9, at 10 am in Main Branch Community Room #1. At this history focused session, led by James Bartek, Ph.D., and  Programs Manager with the Kentucky Military History Museum and the Kentucky Historical Society, learn about Kentucky’s response to the secession crisis and political decisions made by state leaders, the various military actions around Frankfort, as well as how the conflict came to be remembered afterward. Special attention will be given to analyzing and understanding the Confederate attack on the city in June 1864 and its successful defense by local militia. Open to ages 18 and up. No registration required.
