Event Details

This May, expand your creativity at our Ekphrastic Art and Writing Workshop with poet B. Elizabeth Beck. What in the world does ekphrastic mean? Based upon her books, Painted Daydreams: Collection of Ekphrastic Poems and Dancing on the Page, poet and Kentucky Humanities speaker Elizabeth Beck will discuss the symbiotic process of responding to music and visual art to create poetry and stories. This discussion, to be held on Monday, May 11, at 4:00 pm in NCPL Main Branch Community Room #2, will provide prompts for writers beyond the session. Never face a blank page again once you learn how to use ekphrastic responses in your writing. Registration required. Open to ages 18 and up. This program is funded in part by Kentucky Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
